The pause before you go live — production and social media for brands that stay current and competitive.
01 — The Mark
◉ The lens
The ◉ (fisheye, or lens circle) is Tacet's mark. It reads simultaneously as a camera lens, a live indicator dot, and a targeting reticle — three things a production company does: see, go live, and focus. It works at any size. Always set in amber gold. Never in neutral grey or white.

02 — Colour
One palette. One accent.
Tacet runs dark — always. The near-black background is the brand's canvas. Amber gold is the only accent; it should always feel like a light source, not decoration. Cream is the text tone. The palette doesn't flex — it holds.

03 — Typography
Three voices, one production.
Serif for the brand's editorial presence — headlines, hero moments, the name. Sans for the working interface — service copy, body, navigation. Mono for the technical layer — labels, eyebrows, metadata. Each voice has one job.

04 — The Name
Tacet — what it means
Tacet is a musical direction meaning "be silent" — specifically, it signals that an instrument should deliberately hold its rest while the piece continues. It is not absence. It is intentional space. For a production company: the pause before the shutter clicks, the held breath before going live, the discipline to know what not to show.
"In music, tacet means hold — not stop. The note is coming."
The name rewards people who ask about it. That's intentional — it creates a moment to explain the philosophy: deliberate, considered production. Not everything needs to be loud.
Usage rules
- Always capitalised: Tacet, never tacet or TACET
- The period is encouraged in display: Tacet.
- Pair with tagline in marketing contexts: "Stay current. Stay competitive."
- Never add "Media", "Studio", or "Productions" — just Tacet
- In footer: "Tacet · tacet.ca · a Dunwell company"
05 — Voice & Tone
Measured. Confident. Cinematic.
Write like the production team that shows up prepared, sets up quietly, and delivers something that makes the client look twice. Specific over vague. Direct over enthusiastic. The work speaks; the copy doesn't need to shout.
Tacet sounds like
—Specific: "Broadcast-grade, not bedroom-grade"
—Confident: "We come to you — no studio fees"
—Measured: short sentences, no filler, no hype
—Cinematic: references quality, restraint, craft
—Honest about what's included and what isn't
Tacet never sounds like
×Hype: "We take your brand to the NEXT LEVEL!"
×Vague: "Creative solutions for modern brands"
×Guru-coded: "content creator", "social media guru"
×Casual: exclamation marks in service copy
×Padding: any sentence that doesn't do real work
06 — Design Do / Don't
Cinematic restraint.
Tacet's visual language is dark, precise, and deliberate. Every element is either necessary or it isn't there. The amber gold is light — use it as such: sparingly, meaningfully, never decoratively for its own sake.
Do
—Dark backgrounds — always. This is a dark brand.
—Amber gold as accent only — never fill, never background
—Newsreader for every headline — it carries the brand
—Thin hairline rules and mono eyebrows for structure
—High-quality photography — real shots, real lighting
—Subtle animated elements — shimmer, slow rotation, pulse
Don't
×Light backgrounds — breaks the brand immediately
×Rainbow gradients or neon colours of any kind
×Ring light / smartphone photography as portfolio work
×Rounded pill buttons — sharp corners (3px) only
×SVG illustration — use real photography or nothing
×More than one accent colour — gold is the only one
